Alpine Institute for Life Sciences

The Foundation

The Alpine Foundation for Life Sciences is located in Olivone, in the Blenio Valley, one of the beautiful sunny regions of upper Ticino.

Its purpose is to support, coordinate and promote training and research in the life sciences, with particular focus on the study and knowledge of medicinal and aromatic plants, the molecules and/or active ingredients they contain, and their therapeutic implications in the medical and veterinary fields.

The Alpine School

The Alpine School represents the sector of the Alpine Foundation engaged in the promotion and dissemination of life sciences. Every year, educational proposals are organised for schools of various levels, either in a biology laboratory or in the nature of the Blenio Valley. In addition, the Alpine School regularly organises educational excursions and training courses for families and adults.

Guided tours

Throughout the course of the year, it is possible to visit the facilities of the Alpine Foundation for Life Sciences or request one of the activities organised by the School, including botanical excursions, the creation of oils, ointments or hand creams, and visits to the laboratories.

Companies, schools, universities or interested groups are warmly invited to come to Olivone to learn more about the Foundation's activities.
