Description

«Walkingtested» trail, that's been especially selected for walking and nordic walking (for evaluations and opinions see «see also»).

This trail is best in spring and autumn, running partially in the woods, on dirt roads, with a few stretches on paths and some very short stretches on asphalt (rubber tips are optional). There are several water fountains along the way, where you can stop for a drink. Almost at the end of the walk there is a toilette. The trail's departure and arrival point is from the civil defence's parking lot, in the lower part of the town. The first stretch is on asphalt on the road leading to the nice church of San Bartolomeo. You'll find yourself amongst meadows and sparse woods going slightly uphill until you reach a second asphalt stretch and then back on a dirt road in sparse woods decorated by big, unusual wooden sculptures derived directly from the trees themselves. You'll come out on a wide hilly meadow with a great view of the whole area all the way to the town of Arosio. Another asphalt stretch will bring you back to a path, which going downhill will lead you through a lovely forest prevalently of chestnut trees. At the town entrance you'll find the last water fountain before reaching the parking lot, by passing through the cobblestone streets of the small village (or, by taking the road to the left of the fountain, after about 500 metres taking the stairs on the right and then going right again and in view of the parking lot).
