Sentiero Smeraldo Cabbio - Bellavista - Cabbio

The «Sentiero Smeraldo» (Emerald Trail) is a project of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) realised in co-operation with the office of tourism as part of Switzerland's «Emerald Network». Its goal is to publicise and raise awareness about the Emerald species and habitats of Mendrisiotto - one of three places in the canton of Ticino richest in these rare and endangered species and habitats.

From Cabbio you will quickly be in Muggio. Here you can leave the hiking path and wander through the woods and meadows where you will discover many different beautiful and rare plants.

If you'd like to experience the ambience of one of Ticino's idyllic villages, we recommend you take a detour and stop in Muggiasca (option A). If you'd prefer to explore the nature reserve area of Mount Generoso, then you should choose option B or C. In either case, you are sure to enjoy this leg of the tour!

Montagnepulite: This project was born to promote an effective management and sustainable use of mountain huts in Ticino, and in particular the litter management. The responsible management of litter in the mountains is a matter of common sense. We can all contribute:
