Scudellate – Roncapiano – Muggiasca – Bellavista

A hike in the beautiful Muggio Valley, awarded the title of "Swiss Landscape of the Year" in 2014 by the Swiss Landscape Foundation (SL-FP).

From the charming village of Scudellate (904 m a.s.l.), follow the official signs and follow the asphalt road to the characteristic village of Roncapiano (980 m a.s.l.) in about 25 minutes. You cross the centre passing by the Oratorio della Beata Giuliana Falconieri, a neoclassical building dating from the 19th century.

The Muggiasca footpath starts from here and is part of a particularly beautiful landscape. It is a fundamental part of the footpath linking Alta Valle di Muggio with the Monte Generoso section up to its peak.

The route follows an initial stretch of pastureland and then continues for about 50 minutes through the woods.

You will reach the locality of Muggiasca. From here you proceed along the asphalt road, climbing up through the beautiful beech wood until you reach the Oratory of Cascina d'Armirone (about 35 minutes' walk).
From here you continue for about 20 minutes, reaching Bellavista at an altitude of 1202 metres.

Montagnepulite: This project was born to promote an effective management and sustainable use of mountain huts in Ticino, and in particular the litter management. The responsible management of litter in the mountains is a matter of common sense. We can all contribute: https://www.montagnepulite.ch/en/golden-rules.
