Knowing Bodies

From September 20, 2025, to January 11, 2026, Museo Casa Rusca presents the group exhibition Knowing Bodies, centered on the artist, dancer, and choreographer Simone Forti, as well as on artists who have drawn inspiration from her works and her explorations of the body, pursuing similar approaches: Steffani Jemison, Lenio Kaklea, Marta Margnetti, Katja Schenker, Jeanne Tara, Juliette Uzor, and Isaac Chong Wai. Knowing Bodies offers the opportunity to see a selection of works (videos, photographs, drawings, collages) by Simone Forti, which provide insight into her diverse production, covering different phases of her creative work, while also presenting existing and new works—created especially for the occasion—by the selected artists. The exhibition is curated by Gioia Dal Molin, art historian, curator, writer, and, since June 2025, director of the Haus für Kunst Uri in Altdorf.

Alongside Knowing Bodies, during the same period Museo Casa Rusca also hosts the first solo exhibition in a Swiss museum—also curated by Gioia Dal Molin—dedicated to the Italian-Tunisian artist Monia Ben Hamouda, whose artistic research explores and deepens the knowledge, traditions, and history of the Arab world through sculptures, installations, and large-scale paintings made with various materials, including spices.
