Walking for Peace


The Culture Ticino Network Association is glad to invite you to the special 5th edition of transboundary event “Walking for Peace", which will take place Saturday, October 7th 2017 in Malcantone and in the Varese’s area. The march intended to children and adults and it has been created with the scope to make every person conscious about the necessity to promote peace and solidarity. The entire event will be characterized by a several significant moments of charity, shows and entertainment.

Therefore, you cannot miss it!


The Swiss path

The Swiss group will gather at the FLP of Agno at 9 a.m. where the Association's President, Margherita Maffeis will welcome the participants and the authority. This moment will be enriched by a little show dedicated to peace. At 9:30 a.m. the partecipants will leave Agno in order to get at 10 a.m. to Magliaso first (Corte della Casa Comunale) and then to Caslano (Piazza Lago), around 11 a.m. The stop in those two places will be animated by several food, drink, animation with the Association Veicolo Danza and the dancers of the Ashkenazy Ballet Center. 

At 11:20 a.m., the partecipants will start again in order to get the Bridge of  Ponte Tresa where the Swiss group will finally met the Italian one.   



The Italian path

The Italian group will gather at the parking placed in front of the aquatic park in via Zanzi 25 at 9:45 a.m. Around 10 a.m. the group will leave this station in order to get Piazza San Giorgio in Ponte Tresa where there will be a football match between Italian and Swiss players. At 11:30 the Italian group will restart the march in order to reach the Bridge of Lavena Ponte Tresa where will be celebrated an official moments with the participation and the municipal authority.



From 12:30 p.m. to 15 p.m. in the municipal hall of Ponte Tresa, it will be served the "Maccheronata of Solidarity" with a spectacular musical show, with the dancing school Ashkenazy Ballet Center, the Insubriart Association, the author-composer Loris Allemann and the soprano Julia Gertseva with her children's choir "La Musica".


The Peace Walk is an event characterized by entertainment, which does not forget to address the social engagement, because funds raised during the event will support two Association's projects: the realization of a Multipurpose Center in the Philippines, which provides food, medical exams, education and cultural-artistic moment for poor children and their families in Paombong. Moreover, the event will support a cultural program “Petali di Pace” (Petals of Peace) created for children of elementary school in Ticino.
