Traditional beating of chestnuts

Once again this year, thanks to the efforts of many volunteers from the Museo etnografico della Valle di Muggio and the Associazione Amici di Cabbio, it was possible to load the 'historic' graa of Cabbio. Drying began in mid-October, and since then the fire has been lit and tended without interruption.

The graa events will culminate on Sunday 5 November with the threshing festival. Cabbio (southern edge of the village, near the fountains and cemetery), from 11 a.m.:

• live music
• buvette
• lunch
• stalls
• and lots of good company

In the event of bad weather the date of the event may be changed. If in doubt, please consult the Museum website (www.mevm.ch) or call 076 418 00 32 from Friday evening.

Parking spaces are limited, so the use of public transport to reach Cabbio is recommended.
