The exhibition reveals the extraordinary adaptations of plants and animals to the extreme conditions of the alpine environment, following the example of the biodiversity of Val Piora.
Why does snow in the mountains turn red in spring? Is it true that some organisms live inside rocks? Why do some fungi only grow in the presence of certain alpine plants? Why don't reptiles lay eggs in the mountains? Is it true that the stone pine grows where the hazel grows? How does the ptarmigan survive snowstorms? Is it true that shrews shrink in winter? How do ibexes also move over sheer walls of dams?
During school holidays (Christmas, carnival, Easter, summer and autumn holidays) open daily from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Reservations required for schools and groups of more than 10 persons, guided tours on request.
