Ferdinand Hodler (1853-1918) and Filippo Franzoni (1857-1911) were, in different ways, two of the key figures in modern art in Switzerland at the turn of the twentieth century. This exhibition is the first to forge a dialogue between their works: for the occasion, an extensive selection of paintings by Franzoni will be presented alongside works by Hodler, including lesser known creations, from important public and private collections, above all Swiss. The exhibition aims to highlight similarities and differences between their practices, in a fascinating dialogue that offers further insight into the art scene in Switzerland at the turn of the last century.
