Cinquant'anni a passo d'uomo - Casa Rotonda

Fifty Years at a Human Pace – The Muggio Valley is a photography exhibition by Giovanni Luisoni, hosted at Casa Rotonda in Corzoneso-Casserio, celebrating 50 years of photographic explorations in the Muggio Valley. Organized by the Fondazione Archivio Donetta for the 80th birthday of the Mendrisio-based photographer, the event also marks the debut of his works outside the Mendrisiotto. Simultaneously, a volume published by Salvioni is being released, featuring over 100 images of the valley, accompanied by texts from Antonio Mariotti, Mark Bertogliati, and Silvio Bindella.

Luisoni, heir to the tradition of Gino Pedroli, has built an eclectic career ranging from photojournalism to artistic photography. A master of black-and-white photography, he uses traditional analog techniques, as seen in the 32 prints on display, created on silver salt baryta paper. The exhibition and the book offer a profound reflection on the landscapes and people of the Muggio Valley, connecting it ideally to other Ticino regions like the Blenio Valley.
