After 90 years Antonietta of Saint Leger comes home in the painting by Daniele Ranzoni (1843-1889) just on the Brissago Islands where it was painted over a century ago.
An intriguing story to discover in the Red Room of the Hotel Isole di Brissago.
“The Princess of Saint Leger - Back to the Brissago Islands” is an exhibition which aims to shed light on the deep and intrinsic bond of the Islands with the Saint Leger Princess, founder of the first botanical garden which has now become the Botanical Park of Canton Ticino, and the return of the portrait of Antoinette Tzikos of Saint Leger in the place where, more than 130 years ago, Daniele Ranzoni lived and created the painting.
The islands can be reached by boat from Locarno, Ascona, Porto Ronco and Brissago.
Timetables on: www.navigazionelaghi.it.
The visit is free, but is tied to the entry ticket to the Islands.
