Oratorio di S. Defendente

From Sementina a narrow but asphalted road leads through the vineyards to a crossroads, from which, proceeding to the right, you reach the oratory of San Defendente, in the mountains of the same name. Of late medieval origin, but very much transformed in the 17th century, the oratory preserves in its external structure some architectural parts from the 15th century. The internal south idional wall has two frescoes dating back to about 1500 with a Madonna enthroned and some saints, including St. Defendente.
Inside there are some votive frescoes of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries of popular character.
