In the heart of Bellinzona, at the foot of the Castelgrande, there is a historic, evocative room: a room with a frescoed ceiling, an inlaid wooden floor and an old fireplace that houses a weaving loom that is still in operation.
Clothing fabrics, accessories and furnishings made entirely by hand surround the room.
This place, created 9 years ago by Arlena Ton, offers history and pure, living craftsmanship to experience and explore. Arlena, born in 1989, is a young entrepreneur from Ticino, adopted at the age of one from Romania. Hers is a poignant story. She took up weaving as if driven by a higher power. Only several years later did she discover that her family of origin, in particular her mother and grandmother, did the same work.
Arlena operates in a place that is more unique than rare. A space that seems to be suspended in time, where you can see with your own eyes all the processes that make up the creation of a fabric. Anyone who takes home an object made in this unique atelier takes home a piece of their heart. An emotion.
