“Opposites attract” is the formula for the design of the Giardino Lounge: the outside is simple with a lot of glass and steel, while inside a rich mix of romantic and contemporary architecture reigns. A wall made of real plants, which is twelve meters in length and three metres in height, is the highlight of the restaurant in Viale Papio 1.
The Giardino Lounge e Ristorante offers drinks and Mediterranean dishes. One of the specialities is fish catched in the nearby Lake Maggiore. Like all the other dishes, it is prepared under the responsibility of Rolf Fliegauf, the youngest chef In Europe to be awarded two Michelin stars.
According to the manager of the restaurant, Giacomo Bianchi, the Giardino Lounge e Ristorante is more than a restaurant, a lounge or a bar: “It is everything and even more: it is the place to be in Ascona, be it for lunch, for teatime, for an aperitif or for a perfect dinner.”
