Monte Tamaro: a fun location surrounded by nature!
The mountain, located in the Lugano-Bellinzona-Locarno triangle, is the perfect place for those who are looking for fun combined with nature and sport. The variety of the offer is sundry: a big restaurant, the Church of S. Maria degli Angeli (designed by the Ticinese architect Mario Botta), the starting point of various scenic walks, MTB tracks with panoramic views, a playground for children, an Alpine Coaster bob, and a Zip line.
Moreover, at the cableway’s middle station there are a thrilling Adventure Park, the Tamaro Jumping, Downhill tracks and a meeting point with a snack bar.
Reaching Monte Tamaro is easy. Firstly, visitors need to travel to Rivera by public transportation or by car, and then they simply take the cable car to Alpe Foppa, the top of the mountain.
Open all day from 8.30 to 5 p.m. / July and August from 8.30 to 6 p.m.
Last journey up 4.30 p.m. / July and August 5.30 p.m.
DOWNHILLE & FREERIDE TRAIL:
The Downhill & Freeride trail is a black trail with a difference in level of 680m, ideal for perfecting technique and training (full-face helmet obligatory).
The trail starts near the middle cableway station at 1,150 m above sea-level and ends at Rivera at 469m above sea-level.
