The first mountain hut in Ticino
Owned by the Swiss Alpine Club - Ticino Section, the hut Campo Tencia is the first hut of the Ticino mountains, was built in 1912 at the foot of the lace of the same name, on the eastern side of the upper Val Piumogna.
It is situated on a terrace called the Giubin hill at 2140 msm, from where, towards the north-east, the view extends from the Scopi ( Lucomagno ) to the south-east beyond the Adula glacier ( Rheinwaldhorn ).
Interesting base camp for a pleasant stay for families, with various nature excursions, Lake Morgirolo in the neighborhoods, climbing gardens and ideal point for the main ascents to the fantastic group of Campo Tencia, jib in the buttonhole the classic crossing of the crest of the Horns.
The comfortable and modern hut is on three floors, ground floor with main entrance, shoe drying room and bathroom on the first floor, bright living room with 70 seats, Beamer for presentations and the new kitchen where the famous dishes of Campo Tencia come out.
On the second floor there are 70 beds divided into 7 rooms, some of which have 4/8 beds, ideal for families who want to stay for several days. All beds are equipped with Nordic duvets.

- Hits: - From Dalpe (Leventina Valley) 2 h 30 min / 3 h - from Lake Tremorgio (reachable with the cableway from Rodi) 3 h 30 min. The path is suitable to all (also to families).
- Capacity: 70 beds (subdivided in rooms of 4/6/8/10/12/15 places.
- Kitchen: Hot meals served all day by the keeper.
- Specialties of the house: Tris of pasta, gnocchi, risotto with mixed herbs, bread cake, Polentanegra, pizzoccheri “Campo Tencia” and many other surprises.
