Ticino land of water

In Ticino the water is present in multiple forms: rivers, lakes, alpine lakes, glaciers and wonderful waterfalls that attract numerous tourists. 2012 is an important year for Ticino. In fact thanks to the national and international campaign of Switzerland Tourism that promotes water in all the forms, our canton has a great potential, as it will be able to highlight the offers related to water of the territory.

Routes and trails related to water

In Ticino different paths and trails are directly in contact with water. Here we present some suggestions on the territory.

There are more than 130 small Alpine lakes in Ticino: a fascinating natural heritage to be discovered on each excursion.

The St Gotthard Massif witnesses the emergence of four major rivers – the Rhine, the Reuss, the Ticino and the Rhone – that head off to all four points of the compass. From the end of July you can book the itinerary online.
