The San Matteo winery is a family-run business.
The San Matteo winery was established in 1973 with the planting of Merlot grapes near the church of San Matteo in Cagiallo.
In 1976 the company proceeded with the first vinification of its red grapes. In the following years the vineyard area was enlarged with the planting of a Chardonnay and an experimental cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. Since 2003, the winery has been situated next to Cà San Matteo, which offers a B&B service and, by appointment, tours and wine tastings with local products.
