1000 meters above the sea, on a mountain above Mergoscia, the Cooperative Campo Cortoi offers a holiday camp composed of 5 traditional cottages (Rustici) suitable to accommodate families as well as schools and other types of organizations.
The infrastructures provide comfortable room for 30 people, and in their simplicity the opportunity for guests to immerse themselves in a life in contact with nature. The meals are cooked in an economical kitchen, and energy and hot water are generated by solar panels and photovoltaic systems. In this beautiful area of the Valle Verzasca you can also enjoy a nice view of the Lago Maggiore.
The location is reachable only by foot, through a simple path properly marked. From Locarno, the FART bus number 312 takes you to Mergoscia, at the “Posta” stop. At this point begins the journey lasting 40 minutes, that, following the official signs, takes you directly to Campo Cortoi.
The holiday camp offers the opportunity to carry out various activities that allow you to experiment lifestyles that are different from the urban one. While staying, the motto is “all for all”, and interpersonal relationship inside the group get automatically redefined. During the period of the holidays, the Cooperative also organises cultural activities like movie night or chestnut party.
