Cagi - Cantina Giubiasco SA

Founded in 1929, the Cantina di Giubiasco is located in the heart of a valuable hilly wine-growing region. Here, history and tradition have left their mark on the territory: the castles of Bellinzona, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, bear witness to this.

The Cantina di Giubiasco makes about one tenth of Ticino's entire production from selected grapes grown by over 350 winegrowers. For many decades the Winery has been carefully cultivating old hillside vineyards located in various municipalities surrounding the capital Bellinzona, with its admirable medieval fortifications, castles, crenellated walls and towers.

The care of the hillside vineyards contributes to the preservation of the environment and the maintenance of a valuable landscape asset. It is in this territory that the Merlot vine, cultivated for over a century, produces truly unique wines, appreciated by all admirers. These wines tell the story of their land of origin.

Visits to the cellar
Visitors are welcome in our cellar. We are pleased, upon reservation, to let lovers of good wine visit the company, to show and share the result of our passion, obtained in the respect of tradition and the continuous and tireless search for quality.
The guided tour of the winery lasts about half an hour. The route winds through the production phases: starting from the wine-making and bottling rooms, then moving on to the ageing cooperage and ending with the tasting of the wines paired with a platter of local cold cuts and cheeses.
During the harvest period (September - October) we cannot make visits to the cellar.
