Day 2: Treasure hunt in the Brissago Islands, approx. 20 miles

From the Albergo Losone hotel, just a short bike ride will take you to the picturesque town of Ascona, and you can take the boat directly to the larger of the two isles of the Brissago Islands, San Pancrazio (also known as Isola Grande). Thanks to this treasure hunt, you’ll also get the opportunity to discover more than 1700 rare plant species from all over the world at the botanical gardens. To finish off the day, once you have picked up your bike from Ascona, and if you still feel you have it in you, you can cycle back taking the bike path along the Maggia River and stop off at the quaint villages at the foot of Centovalli.

Day 3: Day trip to Vallemaggia valley, approx. 20 miles

Rich with steep rocky cliffs and pristine waters, Vallemaggia is truly a valley of contrasts. Along the waterways dotted with stones polished by the stream, you will come across a fascinating series of ponds and sandy beaches where locals like to go to relax by the river in summer. Spring and winter are also excellent seasons for visiting Maggia valley, whether by bike or on foot.

Day 4: Free day

Allow yourself a few hours of relaxation at the Albergo Losone hotel’s Beauty Centre, and recharge your batteries before finishing off this great family adventure. After a few hours of well-deserved relaxation, cycle to the Falconeria di Locarno to enjoy a thrilling display of raptors or make your way to Locarno’s beach resorts to have some more with the children.

Day 5: Day trip to Cardada, approx. 6 miles

Cardada is one of the pearls of Lake Maggiore thanks to its panorama. This magnificent viewpoint will be your chance to take in the breath-taking views of the highest and lowest points in Switzerland. A stroll in the woods is also a great opportunity for you to unwind while the children have fun at the Indian village play path.
