morning: visit Ascona (historical center, lakefront, Collegio Papio and church of St. Mary of the Misericordia, casa Serodine, cantonal museum of modern art) and Monte Verità (museum Casa Anatta).
afternoon: go to Brissago, visit the Rennaissance church of the Madonna del Ponte (bridge) and then take a boat to the Brissago Islands (botanical park).
Day 2
morning: visit Locarno* (Città Vecchia, castle museum, St. Mary in Selva church) and Muralto (St. Vittore); eventually Orselina (Madonna del Sasso (rock).
afternoon: trip up Valley Maggia with a stop in Maggia (St. Mary's church in Campagna with frescoes by Vanoni), Cevio ("nucleo" and regional museum), Mogno (Church of St. John the Baptist, work by Mario Botta).
Day 3
morning: visit Bellinzona* (historical center, castles, Roman church St. Biagio in Ravecchia). On to Biasca (Sts. Peter and Paul) with brief stop in Gnosca (ruins of St. John the Baptist) along the way.
Continue to Giornico and visit the Roman church of St. Nicholas or in the Blenio Valley (see the Roman church of Negrentino in Prugiasco).
afternoon: modern architecture route around Bellinzona, in particular the convent, done by Luigi Snozzi, in Monte Carasso.
Day 4
morning: visit Lugano* (historical center, St. Lorenzo cathedral, Church of St. Mary of the Angioli, cantonal museum of art, Villa Ciani)
afternoon: visit Carona ("nucleo*, Church of Madonna of Ongero) or take the lift from Rivera to Monte Tamaro and visit the Church of St. Mary of the Angels done by Mario Botta.
Day 5
morning: brief visit of Mendrisio (historical center) and on to Castel S. Pietro (red church).
afternoon: visit the Baptistery of Riva San Vitale (5th century). On to Rancate to see the Zust gallery.
